How to use this QR generator
An email QR code uses a mailto link to open an email draft in the scanning person's configured mail app. It can prefill the recipient, subject and message. The person reviews the draft and chooses whether to send it; a scan does not send an email automatically.
- Enter the email address you want visitors to contact. Optionally add a short subject and suggested message.
- Keep the prefilled message brief so the code stays less dense. Customize the design or add a visible email address in the invitation template.
- Download and scan the code on a phone with an email app configured. Check the recipient, subject and message before printing.
The scanning device controls the email draft
Mailto behavior depends on the phone, browser and configured mail application. A device without a default email app may ask the user to choose one or may not open the draft. Include a visible contact address or a link to a contact page on your printed material as a fallback.
Keep your contact information intentional
Anyone with the QR code can read its recipient address and prefilled text. Use a public support or business mailbox when the code will appear on a public sign. The QR data is static: changing the mailbox or subject means exporting a new code. Make QR creates the mailto link and does not send email or connect to your inbox.
