How to use this QR generator
A Maps QR code stores the share link for a location, letting visitors open that location after a scan. Paste a Google Maps share URL directly. Apple Maps and other HTTPS map links also work; this tool does not require you to look up latitude and longitude.
- Open the place in Google Maps, choose Share and copy the link. Check that it points to the correct entrance or meeting location.
- Select Maps link and paste the URL. If you need a geo code instead, the optional Coordinates mode accepts latitude and longitude.
- Download your code or personalize the location-map template. Scan the file and confirm the destination on a phone before printing.
A location link is not always a directions link
A place's share link normally opens that place; it does not necessarily start navigation. If you need directions, copy a link for the route or directions view you want visitors to open. A short link is encoded as supplied, without resolving it on our server. The maps provider controls where the link opens on each device.
Add a visible address beside the code
A QR sign should still be useful when a visitor cannot scan it. Put a place name, readable address and a short instruction next to the QR using the location-map template. The visible wording and the encoded map URL are separate fields, so check both. If the venue changes, update your draft and replace the printed code.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. You supply a public Maps URL and Make QR encodes it. No Maps API request is needed for generation.
Does it only work with Google Maps?
No. Public HTTPS links from Apple Maps or another mapping service can also be encoded. Test how that service opens on your intended devices.
