How to use this QR generator

SVG stores the QR modules as vector shapes, so the code can scale without the pixelation of a small bitmap. Use an SVG QR export for posters, packaging or a layout you plan to edit in a vector design application.

  1. Enter the link or other content that the QR code should encode, then customize its appearance in Design.
  2. Keep SVG selected in File format and download the finished code. A printable template export includes its surrounding artwork.
  3. Import the SVG into your layout, keep its proportions and white border, and scan a final-size proof before a production print.

SVG, PNG and PDF serve different jobs

Choose SVG when you need scalable QR modules or plan to place the code in vector design software. Choose PNG for a fixed-size image, with exports up to 4096 pixels on the longest side. Choose PDF for the application's template print dimensions. Make QR's PDF output embeds a high-resolution raster image; it is not a fully vector PDF.

Scale the artwork without changing the code

Avoid stretching the SVG in only one direction or editing individual QR modules after exporting. Keep the white quiet zone in the design, even if your page background is colorful. Any uploaded logo or portrait remains an embedded raster image within the SVG, so it has its own resolution limit. Test once the artwork is placed in the final layout.

Does SVG export need an account?

No. SVG, PNG and PDF downloads are available without signing up.

Does an embedded photo become a vector?

No. The code modules and template shapes can be vectors, but an uploaded photograph or logo remains a raster image embedded in the SVG.
