How to use this QR generator
A text QR code stores the message directly in the pattern. A compatible scanner can show the text without opening a website, making it useful for a short instruction, equipment label or note. The text is processed in your browser rather than uploaded for basic generation.
- Enter the exact text you want a scanner to display. Include line breaks where they help the reader understand the message.
- Keep the note concise and choose a dark module color on white. Longer messages create a denser code and may need a larger print.
- Download the code and scan the exported file. Check spelling and line breaks before attaching it to your label or sign.
Text, a website link or a downloadable document?
Use plain text for a message that can stand on its own. Use the URL generator when readers should open a web page, and the PDF-link generator when you already have a hosted document. A text QR code does not host a page or store a PDF file. You cannot edit the words inside an already printed static code; export a replacement when the message changes.
Language and length matter
You can enter Unicode text, including languages beyond English. The amount of space needed depends on the characters, not only their visible count: some characters use multiple bytes. Make QR limits dense payloads and asks you to shorten content that will not fit. Its interface and instructions are currently in English. Scan the final message on the devices your readers use, especially for mixed scripts and line breaks.

Frequently asked questions
Does a text QR code need internet access?
Reading directly encoded text can happen without visiting a website. The scanner must support showing the text, and any links or actions a reader then opens may still need internet access.
Can I encode confidential notes?
Anyone who can scan the code can read the text. The QR pattern is not encryption. Do not use a public label for a private message.
Why does my message need shortening?
QR capacity depends on the encoded bytes and error correction. A long message or multi-byte characters can exceed the application's limit. Shorten the text or link to a hosted document instead.
